It was great to see so many parents at Books & Bagels! We enjoyed reading and munching on healthy snacks. Thank you so much for your support!
Exhibition Update
We spent the week "tuning in" and developing our inquiries. We worked hard to write central ideas and lines of inquiry and we are ready to move to the next stage of the Inquiry Cycle, and begin "finding out", researching issues.
Central Ideas:
The use of technology can impact our health.
Personal choices about health can affect our life.
The way we communicate and interact affects relationships.
The affects of war on people impacts their lives.
Culture is the building block which influences who we are and impacts our community.
Hunger can impact and affect people's lives.
Students will be sharing their Exhibition Binders and Google Docs during Student Led Conferences on Monday. Ask them to share the process of how they came up with their central ideas and lines of inquiry.
We also practiced our collaborative skills throughout the week. Students performed skits where they role played behaviors that take away from productive group work and then problem solved possible solutions.
Ms. Shigehara led students in a team building activity where students had to communicate and work together to build a structure of cups using strings and a rubber band.
A highlight for the week for all the groups was meeting up with their mentors, who will be supporting them through the Exhibition process.
